#1 WOLVES SHUTOUT HOMERS

Thunder Bay, Ont- A day of rest was all that was needed for Henrik Lundqvist (pictured) and the Thunder Bay Timberwolves to shutout the Springfield Homers at Canadian National Gardens on Thursday.
>>>A pair of goals from Marian Gaborik in the bookend periods of the game sealed the deal and the suddenly #1 team in the CCHL (17-6-5, 39 points) sit pretty atop the league standings.
>>>"It's a good team win for us," said Lundqvist after the game. "I had to make some key saves, but the guys in front of me deserve all the credit. Lanes were cleared and they kept my working space clean to make those saves. This is a really tight group of guys here. We all know what we want and getting these two points helps in that ultimate goal. Now it's on to the next one and we'll need this same effort again and for every game throughout."
>>>The Timberwolves next game is a Christmas Day tilt in Dayton, Ohio against the resurgent Musicmen.
>>>"Dayton will be a tough test," said Timberwolves GM Blake Wendt. "They're loaded, they're hot, they're at home and they're looking to meet and climb over that .500 mark (currently Dayton is 12-13-3). Bill (Corfield, Musicmen GM and co-CCHL commissioner), has quickly turned a corner and taken advantage of a situation where there are alot of re-building teams in the league and looking to move talent out for picks and prospects. Dayton is a wealthy club that can take on alot of salary, and he loaded up high-end prospects for the past couple seasons to move out for this move. Regardless of their current ranking, the Musicmen are a legitimate threat we will take them very seriously."
