WOLVES COMEBACK... AGAIN

Gagne's 4 points lead Timberwolves to victory

Portland, Ore- For the second time in as many games, the Timberwolves rally and win big to extend win-streak to four and points in the last six.
>>>Sitting atop the overall league rankings, Thunder Bay came to west coast looking to hold that position with Budapest and Copenhagen nipping at their heels.
>>>Simon Gagne [pictured] opened the scoring while on the penalty kill at 3:26 for the Quebec-native's 10th goal from Anton Volchenkov and Ales Hemsky. Both clubs went goal-for-goal in the first period and a tally from Patrick Sharp kept the game tied 2-2.
>>>In the second period the lone goal came off the stick of Portland's Jamie Langenbrunner and the Timberwolves were down again going into the final 20 minutes.
>>>"There was no panic," said Sharp regarding the tone of the Timberwolves during the second intermission. "We've been here before and knew what needed to happen. We needed to set the tone right off the bat and take our game to them."
>>>Take it to them they did.
>>>Ales Hemsky tied the game at 5:12 and four goals later, Antti Miettinen ended the comeback at 19:47 with an empty-netter and the Timberwolves won 6-3 over the Owls.
>>>"Without getting too high on ourselves, we played a complete 60 minutes of solid, quality hockey today," said Timberwolves defenseman Nick Schultz after the game. "We matched their intensity early and took it too them in the third. Big win. Big two points. But we've only got a little bit to enjoy it and get right back at it tomorrow."
>>>The Timberwolves play the defending CCHL Cup champion, the River Cities Renegades tomorrow in Ashland, Kentucky.
