Thunder Bay, Ont- Defenseman, John Carlson [pictured] tops the Thunder Bay Timberwolves mid-season Prospect Rankings for the 2010-11 season. The pre-season #1, John Tavares is considered a graduate along with Matt Duchene (2) and Carl Gunnarsson (8).
>>>Coming in at #2 is Swedish winger, Linus Omark who was acquired from Prague with the departure of former Timberwolves prospects, Magnus Paajarvi, Louis Leblanc and Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
>>>Carlson and Omark are expected to be key players to make the 2011-12 roster. Number 3, Ian Cole will also likely get some looks.
>>>"I'm pleased with the overall development thus far of our prospects," remarked Timberwolves GM Blake Wendt via Skype while the big club is on the road in Sweden to take on Wisborg on Friday. "We have guys making remarkable improvements and others that have seemed to stall out. Even despite the departure and number of prospects down from even the pre-season, we're excited about the future and development of this core group."
