PROSPECT KRISTO RECOVERING FROM FROSTBITE

St. Paul, MN- Thunder Bay Timberwolves prospect and current North Dakota Fighting Sioux sophomore forward is recovering from severe frostbite to his right foot at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Kristo suffered the frostbite on the UND campus in Grand Forks, North Dakota on Sunday night where temperatures dropped to close to -30 (F) degrees. He was airlifted to Regions where they specialize in burns and frostbite.
>>>"I've spoken with [UND head coach] Dave Hakstol and he's spoken directly to Danny and his family about Danny's condition," said Timberwolves general manager, Blake Wendt after arriving in Denver for Thunder Bay's game on Saturday. "They tell me that Danny is getting better and will be recovering at the safest pace possible. He's not lost any toes or anything like that, but frostbite is extremely dangerous and not something that can be rushed in recovering from. Obviously it's unfortunate as he was coming off his best game of the season and looking to build off of that. But it's all about recovering now and keeping faith. We hope that he can return to North Dakota and get back at it and show us what he's got in the summer at the prospect evaluation camps."
