>>>
Thunder Bay, Ont.- On the eve of Training Camp, the Thunder Bay Timberwolves have finally announced their captain--Patrick Sharp.
>>>Sharp, a Thunder Bay-native was thought of by many to be the clear choice to lead the Timberwolves. He had been an alternate captain for the past two seasons, and lead all optional skates with teammates this summer.
>>>"Sharpie has been a leader of this club for awhile now," said Timberwolves general manager Blake Wendt. "He's everything you look for in a hockey player. Plays a complete game and the highest level, and leads with his on-ice performance, in the room and like this summer with the optional stuff. Being from Thunder Bay is just a bonus. He's ingrained in the community and is just a quality human being that parents should not worry about their children looking up to. This is a great day for Patrick, the Timberwolves and the City of Thunder Bay."
>>>Sharp succeeds Keith Ballard who was not re-signed in the offseason and Joe Thornton and the third captain in club history.
>>>Alternate captains will be named after the conclusion of Training Camp and before the pre-season.
